What we found? There’s no single “best” class. Instead, Florence is full of incredible options tailored to every interest, skill level, and appetite.
Whether you want to master fresh pasta (think ravioli, tagliatelle, or pici), explore traditional Tuscan cuisine (coccoli, roast pork and seasonal vegetables), or try your hand at pizza and gelato, this guide will help you find the perfect culinary experience.
We’ve taken quite a few cooking classes in Florence over the years, and in this guide, we’re sharing the ones we genuinely loved—plus a few top-rated picks that fellow travellers rave about.
All of the Florence cooking classes featured here are led by local chefs who use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each class ends with a homemade meal, a glass (or two) of wine, and that signature Florentine hospitality that makes these experiences truly unforgettable.
Hands down one of the best cooking classes in Florence, and it’s no surprise — the reviews are amazing. The class takes place in a cosy cooking studio right in the heart of the city.
During this fun 3-hour class, you’ll discover the secrets to making perfect pasta dough and get hands-on with shaping a variety of pasta types. The chef guiding you learned all his skills from his grandmother, a true pasta master from Bologna — so you’re in expert hands.
You’ll have a choice of several class times throughout the day, and during the session, you’ll prepare 3 to 4 delicious dishes like tortelli with ricotta and butter herb sauce, tagliatelle with classic Tuscan ragù, and ravioli filled with gorgonzola or porcini mushrooms.
The best part? Sitting down to enjoy everything you’ve made, paired with plenty of great wine.
We’re already planning to take this Florence pasta class on our next visit — it’s that good!
Amazing Experience to Excite Your Tastebuds
"What an amazing time. We had fun! We had wine! We ate GREAT food! We learned from a great chef how to make so many pastas. His sauces were delicious and he really knows how to get people engaged. I would highly recommend this to anyone who’s traveling to Florence. Better than walking through another museum, you get to participate and eat great food."

We chose the Pastamania Florence cooking class because of its excellent reviews, small group size, and affordable price. Plus, the cooking studio’s location—near the Ponte Santa Trinita—was easy to reach from our Florence base, Casa di Chiara (cosy and stylish apartment).
We loved getting our hands dusty with flour, kneading the perfect pasta dough, rolling it out, and cutting it into tagliatelle, ravioli, and tortelli. Learning how to cook the perfect pomarola (Tuscan tomato sauce) was also part of the class.
Afterwards, we feasted on the pasta dishes we made, paired with organic Tuscan wine from the owner’s family farm. At the end, we were treated to a delicious dessert and even received a recipe booklet to continue cooking at home!
After the class, we took a leisurely stroll around Oltrarno to shop for unique souvenirs.
Loved the cooking class,...
"Loved the cooking class, the instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable and she made the class full of fun. I went there with my family and friends, the process was explained simply that all ages in the group enjoyed the experience…. And the pasta was just divine!"

What sets this cooking class in Florence apart is that it takes place at Chef Luca's home. It's intimate, private, and feels like you're cooking with a friend. We can't wait to take this class, which we think is among the most authentic cooking lessons in Florence.
The class begins with snacking on warm coccoli (fluffy dough balls with Tuscan ham and creamy stracchino) while enjoying a refreshing aperitif.
Then it’s hands-on pasta time. Guided by Chef Luca, you’ll craft two types of fresh pasta—like tagliatelle and a filled pasta or gnocchi—served with seasonal sauces such as ragù, tomato, or mushroom.
To finish, you’ll master tiramisù, the classic Italian dessert no meal is complete without.
This promises to be one of the most delicious meals you’ll have in Florence, especially paired with a glass of Chianti. Along the way, Chef Luca offers plenty of tips and answers all your cooking questions, making the experience as enriching as it is tasty.
Unforgettable Cooking Experience at The Cooking Lab!
If you’re visiting Florence and looking for a truly authentic, hands-on experience, The Cooking Lab with Luca is an absolute must!
We had a cooking class in Luca’s beautiful kitchen where we learned to make ravioli, fettuccine, and tiramisu completely from scratch. Luca was not only a skilled chef, but also a wonderful host—patient, fun, and full of great insights into Tuscan cooking and culture.
After cooking, we sat down in his cozy dining room to enjoy the meal we had prepared. The setting was warm and welcoming, and the food was genuinely some of the best we had in Italy. This was more than just a cooking class—it was a meaningful and memorable part of our trip. Don’t miss this experience!"

Fabulous Pasta making/cooking class
"Chef Gulio was fantastic, kind, funny and a very talented chef. He answered questions, demonstrated as we went along and kept us focused and engaged. We made 3 different pasta’s and they were all great. After our hands on experience we sat down and ate a lovely meal and drank wine. There was plenty of food and wine to go around. I would definitely recommend this class to everyone."
If there's one experience we’re absolutely not missing in Florence, it’s the Cooking Art Brunelleschi School's pasta-making class—and yes, it takes place inside a 12th-century medieval tower.
That’s right: you get to learn how to make fresh pasta from scratch just steps away from the Duomo and the Bargello!
The reviews are glowing, and it’s easy to see why. The class includes everything: expert chefs, hands-on instruction, Tuscan wine, and the chance to make three types of pasta—ravioli, tortellini, and tagliatelle—alongside sauces like butter and sage, pomarola, and an old-school Tuscan ragù.
And once the cooking’s done? You sit down and enjoy it all with a glass (or two) of wine.
They offer multiple time slots daily—morning, afternoon, and evening—so it’s easy to fit into your Florence itinerary.
There are also a couple of fun variations: one class focuses on flambé pasta and tiramisù and other one on Negroni and pasta making. Pretty tempting.
We haven’t taken the class yet, but it’s high on our Florence list—and based on everything we’ve read, it sounds like one of those unforgettable, “only in Italy” moments that’s way more than just a meal.
An Unforgettable Italian Cooking Experience with Lorenzo
"Taking our cooking class with Chef Lorenzo was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. He guided us step-by-step through traditional recipes for 3 pastas & 3 sauces. He made the class so enjoyable and fun! The wine was flowing, we made great connections with others in the class & the pasta was delicious! We would recommend this class to anyone visiting Florence."

Lorenzo is the best!
"We participated in the Cooking Art Brunelleschi on a Wednesday afternoon. We had 17 people in our group and our teacher was Lorenzo. He was very knowledgeable and had a positive attitude towards everyone. With his help we made 3 different kinds of fresh pasta shapes. Because he was attentive and had very clear explanations, everyone succeeded in making beautiful fresh pasta. Lorenzo then gave us a masterclass in making three different sauces to match the pasta we had prepared. At the end of the cooking course we enjoyed our pasta paired with unlimited wine. Overall a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone. The whole experience took about 2.5 hours. Special thanks to Lorenzo for making it so great."

We came out of it feeling very capable to make pasta on our own. This was a wonderful memory from our trip!"
Fantastic experience with kids, and delicious!
"We had an amazing experience with Antonella and Riccardo. They showed up promptly, brought everything our kitchen didn't have, and helped us with a custom menu that both we and our small kids (6, 8, 10) would love.
