We chose the Pastamania Florence pasta-making class because of its excellent reviews and affordable price. Plus, the cooking studioâs locationânear the Ponte Santa Trinita in Oltrarnoâwas easy to reach from our Florence base, Casa di Chiara.
We loved getting our hands dusty with flour and kneading the perfect pasta dough. Then came the fun part: rolling out the pasta with a rolling pin and shaping three different kindsâtagliatelle, ravioli, and tortelli.
We also learned how to cook a rich, homemade pomarola (Tuscan tomato sauce) to pair with our pasta. Once everything was ready, we sat down to enjoy the delicious meal we had prepared, accompanied by organic Tuscan wine from the ownerâs family farm.
The experience ended on a sweet note with dessert and a shot of limoncello, making this Florence pasta class a memorable and tasty highlight of our trip. We even received a recipe booklet so we can recreate the dishes at home!
After the class, we took a leisurely stroll around Oltrarno to shop for unique souvenirs.

WONDERFUL!!!! Everything was all hands at work! We truly made every bit of the meal from scratch and with our hands or normal kitchen tools. Matteo guided us through the market and taught us to make the sauces, Stephano taught us to make pasta by hand, and Bibi taught us to make tiramisu! This experience stands out in several ways: 1) very special and atmospheric venue 2) clear, hands-on instruction that required no special tools or pre-made ingredients - we made it and we ate it! 3) kindly team of Italian chefs who were super supportive and excellent teachers. This was my favorite experience of my entire visit to Florence.
What an experience!
Mataeo and Setphano our Chef Masters made this experience amazing with their knowledge and happy energy. We Walked the market to get fresh ingredients and what is to choose and learnt so much including what we were doing wrong in the kitchen. The food we cooked up was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend doing this class if you'd like to learn how to make authentic pasta and tiramisu while making new friends and lasting memories!
Loved this experience!
This was one of our favorite things we did while in Italy. The chefs were so talented. They took us to the market and showed us what to buy. They taught us to make pasta, bolognese sauce, ravioli, and tiramisu. We drank a little wine while we cooked and soon we sat down and had an amazing meal. I will recommend doing this to anyone I know coming to Italy. Thank you so much to Ciao Foodies and Matteo and Stefano for such an amazing experience.

You can freely choose from preparing three pastas and sauces (pick from tagliatelle, pappardelle, ravioli, tortelli, gnocchi) or one pasta and meat dish such as chicken cacciatore (or pork or beef). Plus, you'll be making a side vegetable dish as well as one of these desserts - tiramisĂč, cantucci, brutti ma buoni, panna cotta or chocolate soufflĂ©.
Learn kitchen tricks and tips while cooking, then sit down around the table to feast on everything you'll prepared (along prosecco and wine). This is a small-group experience, accepting max of 6-7 guests at a time. Cooking class with in Florence with Cinzia is one of the most unique in the city!
Cinzia is a wonderful chef and host!
"Cinzia is a delight! I would highly, highly recommend booking this experience with her. Our boys loved making their own pasta, and we had so much fun putting all the ingredients and courses together. Cinzia was a terrific host, and I would love to book her again to come to our flat if we have a full kitchen."
Amazing Tuscan dinner!
"Such a lovely evening! My dad and I took Cinziaâs cooking class and it was the highlight of our time in Florence. The patio was beautiful and we learned skills we will definitely use when returning back to the US. Overall, it felt like we were having a fun night in a friendâs home and we canât wait to make our own pasta at home! Thank you Cinzia!"
Outstanding host and an enjoyable experience!
"Outstanding host makes for an outstanding experience. Thank you Cienza for teaching us your craft and sharing a wonderful meal and evening."
This experience blends the joy of shopping for the freshest ingredients, cooking and dining together. Once you meet your host Mirella, you'll wander around the stalls of Sant'Ambrogio market in a hunt for the freshest ingredients. You'll also connect with local producers of wine, olive oil, fruits and vegetables.
Next, you'll go to together to here home (which is in the town of Antella, south of Florence), where you'll have hands-on cooking class and prepare a seasonal menu of 3-4 dishes, such as bruschetta, fresh pasta, a main course and a dessert. Once you finish with cooking. you'll dine in Mirella's beautiful garden.
This Tuscany cooking class from Florence is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the cuisine of a local Tuscan family.
Private authentic Italian cooking class
"Mirella and Stefano were so kind. My wife and I absolutely loved our personal Italian cooking class. The environment was authentic, Mirella and Stefano were excellent teachers. This cooking class is a must when in Florence! We will book again the next time we are in Florence!"
Best experience of the trip
"Stefano and Mariella were fantastic hosts--they were informative and knowledgeable, and welcomed us at the market with big smiles, even though we were 20 minutes late due to traffic. We toured the market and were able to learn a great deal about it, as well as observing the quality of the fresh foods.
We then were escorted to their home and guided through the preparation of 4 dishes, plus receiving a tour of their back yard and herb garden. To top it off, we then were able to share the meal we had prepared and have a nice visit with them in their outdoor gazebo, learning a great deal about culture, family and food.
It was the highlight of a two week trip to Italy. Wonderful."
