Ann's review from March 2026
"Louisa picked us up at a cafe and up we went into the hills of Florence. The location was Francy’s elegant home with a view. Honestly gorgeous.
Louisa taught us inside tips on making fresh spaghetti, tortellini, gnocchi, bruschetta, and sauces- with the view of Florence in the background. Louisa made authentic conversation and served drinks.
We received the recipes electronically and we were driven back to the drop spot. It was a memorable evening, well worth the money, and hope to see Louisa again! We high recommend this experience."

"Luca is a gracious host and an excellent teacher! He showed us practical techniques to make pasta and he showed us how to make a delicious tiramisu. Before this experience, I never really enjoyed tiramisu. Lucas was perfect and delicious! When we finished cooking we sat down for dinner and it was as if we were around the family table with wine and conversation flowing. A great experience!"

Stacey's review from March 2026
"What a classic, fun experience to share the morning making pasta, tiramisu then sitting down to enjoy the fruits of our labor- with endless wine to boot. Giulia was an amazing teacher, starting off the day with a trip to the market (an 'add on' that I definitely recommend). She walked us through every step, moved at a very nice pace, and made the experience so memorable. She injected personal stories and explained cooking techniques that added so much value. I highly recommend booking this class."

Carol's review from March 2026
"Luca, our chef, and Erika, our sous chef, were fantastic. They were supportive as we learned our cooking tasks, as well as being entertaining. We shopped, chopped, sliced, diced and whipped our way through 4 courses. We then enjoyed the fruits of our labor. Delicious! Of course, the view was incredible, typical Tuscany scene, right out of a fairy tale. Would highly recommend this tour."

When we searched for the best cooking classes in Florence, we found plenty of options—but not all were worth it. Some are truly hands-on with local chefs, while others feel made for tourists.
To save you time, we reviewed dozens of Florence cooking classes and narrowed them down to the 10 best, based on what really matters when you’re travelling.
Here’s how we compared them.
In our experience, the best Florence cooking classes are the ones led by local Tuscan chefs who genuinely love sharing their food culture. We gave priority to classes where the chef explains not just how to cook a dish, but why it’s done that way—something you don’t always get in larger, more commercial classes.
Some cooking classes in Florence pack in 20 or more people. That’s fine if you just want to watch, but not great if you actually want to cook. We leaned toward classes with smaller groups, where everyone gets hands-on time and you don’t feel rushed or overlooked.
Fresh pasta, pizza, and classic Tuscan dishes are usually the main reason to book a cooking class. We focused on classes where everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients, not pre-prepared food.
