👉 Having second thoughts? Check out how to choose the right Rome tour for you!

1. Rome Highlights Tour by Golf Cart by Liv Tours

We never expected a Rome golf cart tour to become one of our favourite experiences.

Before our trip, we thought it might feel too touristy.

After taking one in May 2026, we completely changed our minds.

One thing we loved about LivTours is that their tours are limited to just 6 people

In just three hours, we visited Rome's iconic landmarks, explored charming neighbourhoods, and discovered hidden corners. We also covered much more ground than we ever could on foot.

What surprised us most? We finished the Rome city tour feeling refreshed, not exhausted.

It was one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to experience the city.

A great option for any time of the year, especially during Rome's hot summer months, like July and August.

Here are some of the moments we enjoyed the most.

Our Rome Golf Cart Tour experience with a view of the ColosseumOn our Rome Golf Cart Tour, we turned the corner and suddenly—there was the Colosseum in all its glory

Approaching the Trevi Fountain from a side street

We loved avoiding the busy streets around the Trevi Fountain.

Our guide, Alexandra, drove us through quiet side streets, and after just a short walk from the golf cart, we were there. Since it was still early in the morning, the fountain wasn’t too crowded.

Alexandra shared interesting stories about the Trevi Fountain before we hopped back into the golf cart and continued to our next stop. 🚐

👉 Did you know you can also explore beneath the Trevi Fountain?

Seeing the Colosseum from every angle

We love photographing the Colosseum, and this golf cart tour lets you admire it from every angle.

We first stopped at a nearby viewpoint, where our guide shared fascinating stories about its history, before driving all the way around the monument.

Next time, we’ll definitely come back for a tour inside the Colosseum. 🏛️

Visiting Circus Maximus

Stopping at Circus Maximus was a fun step back into ancient Rome. We learned about the legends behind the city’s origins and imagined the incredible chariot races that once took place here. It was amazing to stand in a place with so much history.

Riding Up Aventine Hill to Giardino degli Aranci

Aventine Hill was a highlight of the tour. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere at Giardino degli Aranci and the amazing views over Rome.

The stop at Santa Sabina Basilica was a lovely surprise, especially the beautifully carved wooden doors that you could easily miss when exploring on your own.

Taking in the Views from Janiculum Hill

Stopping at Il Fontanone on Janiculum Hill was another highlight of the tour.

The views over Rome were absolutely stunning, and it was the perfect spot to take in the city from above while enjoying a quieter moment away from the crowds.

Cruising Through Rome Like a VIP

One of the things we loved most about the Rome Highlights Golf Cart Tour with LivTours was how easy and comfortable it felt.

We cruised through Rome’s charming narrow streets, saw more without the usual crowds, and enjoyed a few hours of feeling like we had our own private ride around the city. 😄

Who is a Rome golf cart tour best for?

  • First-time visitors (including cruise ship passengers) looking to see Rome's top sights in just three hours.
  • Returning visitors who want a different, more relaxing way to explore the city (that was us!).
  • Families, seniors, and anyone wanting to avoid long walks while still experiencing Rome's highlights.

Next time, we'd love to see Rome after dark on a golf cart tour with drinks.
